Where we work
Seven working areas, each with its own soil, its own wind exposure and its own housing stock. The fence spec is tuned to the plot, not to a one-size-fits-all catalogue.
CT11. The working harbour edge and the immediate streets around it. Ramsgate holds the UK's only royal-designated harbour (George IV, 1821), and the streets that ring it are a mix of harbour cottages, Regency terraces on the East and West Cliffs above, and the sheltered harbour-bowl gardens set back from the sea.
Fencing in Royal HarbourCT11. The Regency terraces along the West Cliff and West Cliff Promenade - Ramsgate at its most exposed. Sea directly to the south and east, and the wind cuts across from the North Sea most days of the year. The tightest conservation-area work in the town, and the highest spec of fencing.
Fencing in West CliffCT11. The mid-C20th residential estate on the western edge of Ramsgate, back from the coast and sheltered from the direct sea breeze. Larger gardens than the town-centre streets, longer boundary runs, and the sweet spot for standard panel fencing rather than the heavier clifftop spec.
Fencing in NethercourtCT11. The older village core west of the town centre, with St Lawrence-in-Thanet parish church at its heart. Cottages, converted farm buildings and older terraces on the streets around the church, mid-C20th infill further out. A gentler streetscape that suits painted picket and traditional timber fencing.
Fencing in St LawrenceCT12. The residential streets north-west of Ramsgate town, mostly post-war semis and detached housing on medium-sized plots. Well back from the coast and sheltered from the seafront weather. Standard rear-boundary panel fencing territory.
Fencing in NewingtonCT12. The coastal edge of Ramsgate to the south-west, on the fringe of Pegwell Bay Nature Reserve. A mix of coastal-facing bungalow plots, older village stock on Pegwell Road, and quieter streets running back from the bay. Coastal-spec fencing throughout because the sea is right there.
Fencing in PegwellCT12. The residential area between Ramsgate and Broadstairs, mostly 1930s and post-war semi-detached housing on well-shaped plots. Sits inland enough to be reasonably sheltered, but close enough to Broadstairs that some salt air still gets in. Standard rear-boundary work with a nod to the coast on hardware.
